Question: Tell us a little about your home life.
Katy Hilston:
I live in Lafayette with my sweet little dog, Ozzy!

Q: Where are you from?
KH:
I was born and raised in PA, outside of Philly. I graduated college, traveled in Europe for 6 months and then pretty randomly decided I wanted to move to Boulder. I came out here with my best friend.

Q. What’s your role at Watershed?
KH:
I am the Communications Coordinator and Office Manager. This is my 4th year at the school.

Q: What made you want to work at Watershed?
KH:
I had spoken with a few Watershed students while I was working at a chiropractor's office. I was so impressed with them in general that I was very excited to have the chance to work with them!

Q: What’s something new you learned or dabbled in during the lock-down?
KH:
I learned to play a couple of songs on the ukelele! I also did a lot of cooking (not something I usually do ;-)

Q: What are you most excited about this school year?
KH:
I’m excited and grateful that we can be together!

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Watershed?
KH:
The people! I think that the Watershed Community—staff, students and parents—is an amazing thing to witness and be a part of.

Q: What’s your professional background?
KH:
I have a Liberal Arts degree with a double minor in Spanish and Health Science. Before Watershed I worked in natural health at a chiropractor’s office and food services.

I love to play music. I’ve played the flute for 20-ish years?

Q: What’s your favorite non-school related activity/hobby?
KH:
A good wander with Ozzy and people watching while drinking excellent iced coffee.

Q: Dream trip?
KH:
I have two high on the list right now… Iceland and Scotland!

Q: What’s your personal life philosophy?
KH:
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” I love that quote by Maya Angelou. I am trying to have that be my philosophy at the moment :)
