Sonia earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Hispanic Studies from McGill University, Montreal, Canada; her Master’s Degree in Spanish Literature from The University of Texas at Austin, and completed doctoral work in French and Spanish literature before starting her career as a high school educator. She has taught a variety of undergraduate Spanish classes at the University of Texas at Austin and at Northern Virginia Community College, as well as a variety of high school courses at The Potomac School (McLean, VA), The Cambridge School of Weston (Weston, MA), and more recently at Colorado Academy in Denver.
Sonia was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela and has lived in the UK, China, Spain and Austin TX, Washington DC, Newton MA. She currently lives in Longmont with her two children. She is a life-long language learner and enjoys all things horticulture and literature.
