Haley was born and raised in Wisconsin, USA, but knew from a young age that she wanted a BIG life filled with global experiences and adventure! She received a B.A. from St. Olaf College in Women's and Gender Studies, and Race and Ethnic Studies, which provided her a lens to analyze and comprehend the complexities of the world from multiple perspectives. During her summers in college, she led multi-day backpacking excursions for young women in the Rocky Mountains with Sanborn Western Camps.
After graduation, Haley hopped on a plane to South East Asia where she backpacked for several months before settling into Melbourne, Australia for a year. Her travels then continued to Germany, France, and Spain where she became a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher. Haley eventually relocated to Costa Rica where she taught yoga and mindfulness classes in Gandoca Manzanillo National Forest at a permaculture farm and retreat center.
Before relocating to Colorado and joining the Watershed team, Haley taught and guided at the Tahoe Expedition Academy, California, for four years. She believes strongly in the healing power of the natural world and the right to pursue outdoor recreation in an empowering and mindful environment.
