Emily earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Chemistry and Spanish from Colby College, where she spent her summers conducting research on the water quality of the Belgrade Lakes. Before moving to Boulder and joining Watershed, Emily taught chemistry for 3 years at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. In addition to working in the classroom, she served as a dorm parent and coached the ice hockey and crew teams. For three summers, Emily led trips for Wilderness Adventures in Hawai'i, Costa Rica, and Ecuador (including the Galápagos Islands).
Emily grew up in Newton, MA and lived on the east coast her entire life until moving to Colorado, with the exception of a semester studying in Madrid, Spain. When not in the classroom, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, crafting, and listening to true crime podcasts. As a first-generation Italian-American, Emily loves to prepare Italian cuisine such as her family's trademark pasta sauce and gnocchi from scratch.
