After graduating from the Lakeside School in Seattle, WA, Chris received a B.A. in English Literature from Colorado College and then an M.Ed. from Colorado University in Boulder. From 1997-2006, Chris worked in various capacities for the Outward Bound School, including Instructor, Course Director, Trainer, and Safety & Training Director, primarily leading 14-day, 22-day, and semester-long courses in California, Oregon, and Washington. He then taught Humanities at Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts (MESA) in Thornton, CO, from 2006-2010. At Mapleton, he became a Master Teacher, a role in which he trained and mentored all new teachers. He has been with Watershed School since 2010. Over the years at Watershed, he has worked as a Humanities Educator, High School Advisor, Dean of Faculty, Interim Head of School, Director of Academics and Community Partnerships, and Art Educator.
