Bridget Collins joins Watershed School as Upper School Division Head, bringing a wealth of experience in fostering joy, character, and service in education. A graduate of McDonogh School, she holds a BA in History and Education from Bucknell University (where she played collegiate soccer) and an MA in History from the University of Kentucky.
During her 24-year tenure at McDonogh, Bridget earned the title "Director of Joy" from students. As Director of Character and Service, she developed impactful programs like Cultivating Character and led school-wide ceremonies reinforcing core values. Her role as Director of Greatest Good McDonogh saw her pioneering social impact initiatives, integrating experiential learning and community partnerships into student life. Bridget's educational philosophy centers on student agency, meaningful work, and creating an environment that encourages curiosity and belonging.
Beyond her professional life, Bridget is deeply committed to family. Following her father's passing in 2004, she cared for her mother for 15 years. She treasures her relationship with her sister in Philadelphia and dotes on her niece and nephews. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Bridget finds joy in hiking and kayaking. With a lifelong passion for learning and exploring, she continually seeks new experiences and knowledge. She also shares a special bond with her Welsh terrier, Faegan, known for his vibrant energy and cleverness (some might say naughtiness!).
Bridget is passionate about Watershed's mission and excited to work with talented educators and wonderful students and families. She looks forward to fostering an environment where students thrive academically while developing strong character and a sense of purpose, preparing them to make a positive impact in the world.
