Andrew was raised in Boulder, CO. After graduating from Boulder High he earned his bachelor degree in physics from the University of Colorado. Years later he earned a Masters degree in Secondary Science Education at the University of New Mexico. It was during his time in New Mexico that Andrew began to shape his philosophy of teaching while working with the Buck Institute of Education. As a member of BIE’s National Faculty, Andrew became an expert in Project Based Learning and traveled the country coaching teachers and schools on how to shift their pedagogy to a more student-centered, authentic learning environment.

Andrew joined Watershed School in 2015 as a science educator. Prior to coming to Watershed, Andrew taught physics and math at both public and private schools in Albuquerque, NM. In 2021 Andrew took a three year journey to Spain to become a math and science instructional coach at the American School of Barcelona. During these three years Andrew continued his passion for bike touring by spending his summers cycling around Europe while camping in the Alps and Pyrenees.

Andrew’s passions include backpacking, telemark skiing in the backcountry, spending late June in Telluride for the BlueGrass Festival, exploring different cultures, cooking, and his book club of over 10 years.
